Day Two Finals

Day two finals brought some very strong swims from the Killer Whales - Kirsten Rowbotham dropped a second from her heat swim and placed 5th in the 13 and 14 girls 200 breast final while teammate Amberle Bakker placed 8th. Marisa Gorjeu was a little off her morning form in the 100 back but still managed an 8th place finish in the event with a 1:19.6. Alec Page was able to improve his final time in the 11 and 12 boys 200 breaststroke with a 3:37, one second better than the heat swim, to place 5th. Aven Preston, who the night before pulled out a huge upset to pull in a medal in the 11 and 12 girls 200 fly as an alternate, was rewarded with another alternate swim in the 11 and 12 girls 200 breast. Another miracle swim was not in the cards but she did improve her time and record an 8th place finish with a 3:16.8.

In relay action, the 11 and 12 girls free relay team of Marisa Gorjeu, Aven Preston, Taylor Padington and Morgan Healy were able to pull in a fast time of 2:10.2 to place third and record a third place podium finish. Healy was rewarded for her efforts with an mp3 player in a draw between all the nights medalists.
