Message From Head Age Group Coach Carrie Matheson

Welcome to the 2005-2006 swim season! My name is Carrie Matheson, I grew up and swam with the Powell River Porpoises from the age of 4 (but I hated putting my face in the water!). I have been coaching for the past 17 years, mostly within the BCSSA organization with clubs like Powell River, Nanaimo, Abbotsford and most recently North Vancouver; also I coached with the Vancouver Pacific Dolphins Swim Club. Last year I graduated from UBC with my Bachelor of Human Kinetics and this year I completed my Education degree at UBC as well. I am looking forward to putting what I have learned into practice on the pool deck. I am very excited to be working with the Campbell River Killer Whales, I have heard so much about you from Aaron and I am looking forward to meeting all of you over the next couple of weeks. CRKW says goodbye to Ashleigh Robertson

Ashleigh Robertson, a long time CRKW member of the club, was killed tragically on Wednesday night in Campbell River in a two car accident. Our deepest sympathies and our heartfelt prayers go out to Ashleigh's family and friends in this very trying time. Information regarding Ashleigh's service will be passed along when details become available.

Rookie Week and Registration Dates Set

The 2005 - 2006 swims season is almost upon us and our rookie week and registration dates are set. Rookie week will be Monday - Thursday, September 12th - 15th from 4:00 - 5:00 pm at the indoor pool. Registration for returning swimmers will be held on Wednesday, September 14th from 4:00 - 6:30 pm and Registration for new swimmers will be on Thursday, September 15th from 4:00 - 6:30 pm.
