Day 3 Finals - Finished with a bang!
The final night of the Island LC Swimming Invitational Meet was outstanding for the Killer Whales with some excellent swims under tiring circuimstances. Brock Hoyt started the night off with a lifetime best time by three seconds in the 400 IM with a 5:15 and placed 8th. Marisa Gorjeu and Aven Preston bounced back from an average 100 freestyle final (Preston 7th - Gorjeu 8th) with incredible swims in the 100 butterfly. Preston was 5th with a 1:16.4 and Gorjeu was 6th in a 1:17.6. Alec Page was a solid 1:24.5 in the boys final of the 11 and 12 boys 100 fly, placing 6th and dropping a full second off of his heat swim. Tyson Berkenstock, Andrea Gilbert and Adriaan Kruger all chipped in with good solid swims in the 200 backstroke final. Kruger improved his time from this morning with a 2:38 and placed 5th while Andrea Gilbert was 7th and Tyson Berkenstock was 8th.
The 11 and 12 girls relay team did one better than the night before, placing 2nd in the 200 medley relay. Marisa Gorjeu broke the club record in the lead off split for the 50 backstroke by .03 of a second. Full results will be available at www.crkw.ca and here.
