Killer Whales Great in Nanaimo!

The Killer Whales Swim Club sent 12 very feisty bronze group swimmers to Nanaimo to race in their annual progressive meet held at the Nanaimo Aquatic Center. The 12 swimmers captured 20 top 3 finishes, including 5 firsts, 10 seconds and 5 more thirds.

Alex Baird won two first and two seconds place finishes while, Finn Page turned the same trick. Also winning an event for the Killer Whales was Brandon Pehrsson, who had an amazing showing at the meet, improving his time in his 4 events by a total of 87 seconds, including a 51 second improvement in his 200 freestyle. He also won the 100 backstroke with a 22 second improvement.

Brooke Guindon cracked the top three a total of three times, including a second place finish in the 8 and under girls 50 fly with a 12 second improvement. She also dropped 24 seconds from her 100 backstroke and placed third. Also picking up second place finishes at the meet were Vanessa Mae Harrison (50 Breast), Rio Massee (50 breast) and Siobhan Hudson (50 Free). Third place finishes went out to Dalynn Briggs-Austin (50 fly) and Leah Kumagai (50 breast).

Tamasyn Kennedy had a 3 second improvement in the 50 fly while Natasha Swan placed 4th in the 50 free and Annalies Turley was 7th in the 50 breast and 50 free.
